Tanya is a member of Hosanna Lighthouse Baptist Church and is nominated by Hosanna Lighthouse Baptist Church.

It is time for Pasifika women to see a representation of themselves in leadership spaces, where they can confidently trust that their voices are being spoken for with confidence and courage. I will bring this confidence and courage to the role.

Tanya is a hard worker who is organised and wears many hats representing spaces and people she loves. Tanya is a graduate of Carey Baptist and is currently the student support coordinator for Carey. Tanya has also completed Diplomas in Counselling & Guidance, Violence & Trauma and Intercultural practice. Studying theology with Carey was a brave decision because in Samoan culture, this is widely accepted to be a role for males only. Through her studies, Tanya has found her voice in representing women in spaces that are predominately closed off to women.  Tanya has courage to address sensitive issues and concerns that are important to women, Māori, Pasifika and leadership. Tanya is a finisher and completes tasks with excellence.

Tanya brings work experience with women, children, schools, violence and trauma to the role. She brings a listening ear and compassionate heart. Tanya has served in Pastoral leadership for over 10 years and is now Co-lead pastor with her husband. Tanya is passionate about equipping and growing the leaders to take lead especially in church spaces. Young people and mothers always comment how inspired they feel to keep going after spending time with Tanya.  Tanya is loyal to the teams she represents! She brings fun, humour and energy. Tanya loves God, Gods word and prayer!

Tanya is all about the business of growing women leaders especially if they identify being Māori or Pasifika. Tanya has the ability to analyse concepts and policies critically and bring constructive feedback to the table for discussion. Tanya is advocate for Carey and believes some good theological training is a must for both men and women who want to serve the church.

Hosanna Lighthouse is proud to nominate Tanya Lameta for Baptist Women. We believe she will be a huge asset to the Board because she brings a voice into the matters that need driving from the Baptist for Pasifika churches and Pasifika women. Tanya is a prayer warrior on behalf of our church and the Baptist movement. We guarantee, Tanya will not disappoint the Baptist women board and the wider Baptist whanau of churches.
